London Joins Twitter Bandwagon

Companies and celebrities are looking for ways to make money on the micro-blogging site.

Britney Spears has been regularly updating her status on Twitter (popularly called "tweeting") this week along with hundreds of other stars and politicians worldwide. On Thursday, a London-based company emerged in hopes of tapping into the fast-growing micro-blogging site.

Twitter Partners, which was created with the backing of Twitter's founders, wants to help celebrities and companies market themselves to Twitter's 6.0 million users. So far, the site is free to use and doesn't include advertising, but it will allow clients, including Virgin Media and Universal Pictures, to monitor what users are saying about their products and services.
